A free 7-part workshop series featuring seven unique sessions designed to equip comics and artists with tools and resources to strengthen their stage presence, access grants, build their brand, and navigate the business side of a creative career.
This series is designed primarily for Black comedians and artists from communities historically underrepresented in the performing arts, while remaining open to all Edmonton creatives.

Who is this workshop series for?
This series is designed primarily for Black comedians and artists from communities historically underrepresented in the performing arts.
That said, all Edmonton creatives are welcome to join, whether you’re brand new or already working the stage.
Is the workshop really free?
Yes, completely free. No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no “just kidding” at checkout.
This 7-part series is fully funded by the City of Edmonton’s Anti-Racism Grant Program.
Do I need to attend all 7 sessions?
Not at all. You can join one session or attend them all, whatever fits your schedule.
Think of it like a creative buffet, take what you need, come back for more if you’re hungry.
Where are the workshops taking place?
Sessions will be held at various venues across Edmonton, with the final workshop hosted virtually.
Exact locations will be shared after registration so you won’t have to play detective.
\What experience level do I need to join?
All levels are welcome. Whether it’s your first time holding a mic or you’ve bombed enough sets to build character, you’ll find something valuable here.
What should I expect when attending?
Expect hands-on exercises, real industry insights, and a supportive space to grow your craft. Light refreshments will be provided, because no one does their best creative thinking hungry.

You’ll leave with sharper stage presence, clearer branding, and practical knowledge on funding, contracts, and promotion. In short, you’ll walk in with ideas and leave with a game plan.
